Got this lil email from a good friend of the Cave:
Man you would get a kick out of this. I read you work out the other day and a lot of principles are just get out there and figure ways to work out.(Cut Grass Pushups) So Sunday I ways in the back yard picking up sticks and got a notation of starting to dig up stumps. So on the way to Lowes to pick up the biggest mallet they had it started raining. This post-paned my work out. Last night after work I grabbed the mallet and went to town on about 4 stumps. What a great workout after about 5 swings I was gasping which felt incredible. You might not realize the things you do with both websites but you do inspire me and give me ideas. I took a Pain Cave work out this morning and went through it. It was a good work out but not a great workout, It’s just hard for me to have that drive you put in us at your house. I want that intensity back and I am searching every where to find it. I figured I cannot rely on everyone else I need to get in there by myself and try to get er done. Thanks for everything and the Warrior Shorts are Awesome.
As we look around us, the tools are there, they way to use the tools are there, and the determination use the tools are there too, you just have to cultivate that one a little more. We will now make this somewhat of a creed here at Pain Cave.
You have the tools
You have been shown the way to use the tools
You have the motivation to use the tools. If not, it will be beaten into you.
Working out is like religion. I was once told by a holy man in Japan, that all the chanting, the hymns and the readings support the one main goal, to contact with the higher power. Take away the singing, the chanting and readings, do you really mean to tell me you cant get in touch with the same higher power or they wont listen? Does all the extra stuff really make you holier?
No. It just makes you FEEL holier. Theres nothing wrong with that either. The goal is to be sure not to get lost in what Bruce Lee calls the "classical mess", just because people said to do so or following a set of patterns that time has engrained. Set up your goal, attack it with true tenacity and get on with your life. If a life or death situation only takes a few minutes, so should your workout. Come in and give it all you have for the longest you can. Find a way to get your inner animal out, get the job done and turn human again. Unless you just love training, but still too much of a good thing is bad.
Follow the middle road.
Soon I will be offering coaching online to those that want it, even web cam tutorials. Stay tuned because we are going to change the way we think about training.
